Myself and Tom started working together in October 2024. Tom was finding it difficult to improve and after a quick chat I knew I could really help him.
We decided to build for a 10k race at Dorney lake in January. Tom had never raced a 10k before and I am delighted to report that he finished in a brilliant time of 52 minutes and 28 seconds. However, Tom felt he could run faster as did I. So after further training Tom competed in another 10k race at Kempton on the 1st of March 2025. Tom demolished his previous pb by a massive 3 minutes and 59 seconds! Obviously this is a huge difference and is great credit to Tom's dedication to training, well done Tom!
After recovering from Kempton we continued to work together towards Tom's main goal, the Shakespear half Marathon on April the 27th 2025. Tom had raced a half marathon previous to working with me and his pb stood at 2 hours and 0 seconds. Fortunately the weather gods smiled on us and Tom was presented with a cool dry day. Again it gives me great pleasure to report that Tom came home with a fantastic time of 1 hour 49 minutes and 1 second, a pb of almost 11 minutes! This is a massive improvement and again is a reflection of Tom's fantastic dedication to running.
Currently we are working towards the Chester half marathon in October, watch this space to see how Tom gets on, he has been a pleasure to work with.
